K.P. Saxena,
the Station Supdt Lucknow, a great humorist and satirist, awarded Padamshri, wrote script of several hindi films eg Lagaan, Jodha Akbar, Swadesh etc besides thousands of articles and books, authored popular t v serial 'Bibi naatiyon wali'. He taught Botany in Christian College for several years before joining Railways. Authored several books on Botany as well.

Born on 29 December 1942, in in Amritsar in the state of Punjab, as Jatin Khanna,Khanna was adopted and raised by foster parents – Chunni Lal Khanna and Leela Wati Khanna,who were relatives of his biological parents after his father had migrated from pre-partitioned Pakistan to Gali Tiwarian in the city of Amritsar. His biological parents were Lala Hiranand and Chandrani Khanna and Lala worked as headmaster of the MC High School in Burewala (in present day Pakistan), Vehari District, Punjab, Pakistan. His adopted parents belonged to a family of railway contractors who had moved from Lahore to Bombay in 1935.Khanna lived in Saraswati Niwas in Thakurdwar near Girgaon, Mumbai and attended St. Sebastian’s Goan High School there, along with his friend Ravi Kapoor, who later took the stage name Jeetendra, and whose mothers were friends.

Bina’s
father, SR Sarin, was an officer with the Western Railways. Bina Rai was a
first year student of Arts in the Isabella Thoburn College of Lucknow Krishna
Sarin was given the screen name of Bina Rai. Right to this day, she is grateful
to Kishore Sahu for giving her an excellent launching pad. She also remembers
with affection Nandlal Jaswantlal who cast her in Anarkali
and Ramanand Sagar who cast her in Ghunghat
for which she won the Best Actress Filmfare Award in 1960.

he is most remembered for his songs like, Mere Desh Ki Dharti in Upkaar (1968), and Yaari Hai Imaan Mera, Zanjeer (1974), both of which got him the Filmfare Best Lyricist Award. The latter also top the Binaca Geetmala annual list of 1973. As a character actor, he also appeared in a small number of Hindi films.
Gulshan Kumar Mehta, popularly known as Gulshan Bawra was born 30 km from Lahore in a place called Sheikhupura. His father had a construction business, young Gulshan witnessed his father and his cousin's, father killed in Labh Chand Mehta's haveli, in front of their own eyes. His elder sister at Jaipur, brought him and his elder brother up. After his brother got a job, they shifted to Delhi where he graduated from Delhi University. During college, he began to write poetry.
After completing his college, he applied for a job in Indian Railways, posted to Kota. But after reaching Kota he came to know that all the vacancies are filled. So he has given the post of goods clerk at the railway godown in Mumbai he arrived in the city in 1955. Gulshan struggled to get a film break, initially keeping his job on.
His real break came with the film Satta Bazar, During the film he was only twenty year old and used to wear colorful shirts. By looking at him and his gesture, film's distributor Shantibhai Patel named him as Bawra (madman). Since then he is known with the name Gulshan Bawra.

Nutan's husband a Navy officer Rajnish Bahl was son of PC Bahl ( Pratap Chand Bahl ) a Railway Officer..as Principal of Railway Staff College, his photo adorns the gallery of Principal's ( now DG) chamber. Old timers mention Nutan inaugurated the swimming pool in Badhwar Park, Railway Colony, Mumbai. ( of course, not by taking the first dive but the simpler version of ribbon cutting type)

Shankardas Kesarilal (30 August 1923 – 14 December 1966), popularly known by his pen name Shailendra, was a popular Indian Hindi lyricist. Noted for his association with the filmmaker Raj Kapoor and the composers Shankar-Jaikishan, he wrote lyrics for several successful Hindi film songs in the 1950s and the 1960s.Poetry was his first love but family situation forced him to take up a
job of a railway mechanic. He used to work in the railway workshop at
Parel.
महावीर प्रसाद द्विवेदी जी की उत्कृष्ट ज्ञान-पिपासा कभी तृप्त न हुई,
किन्तु जीविका के लिए इन्होंने रेलवे में नौकरी कर ली। कुछ दिनों तक नागपुर और अजमेर
में कार्य करने के बाद यह पुन: बम्बई लौट आए। यहाँ पर इन्होंने तार देने
की विधि सीखी और रेलवे में सिगनलर हो गए। रेलवे में विभिन्न पदों पर कार्य
करने के बाद अन्तत: यह झाँसी में डिस्ट्रिक्ट सुपरिण्टेण्डेण्ट के ऑफ़िस में चीफ़ क्लर्क हो गए।
